European Idiocy
Virtually every day there are things that go on in this world that are worthy of attention, disdain and outrage. And then there is going to a costume party dressed as a Nazi soldier. And that is a crime against humanity - at least, thats how most of Europe and Israel are making it sound.
Prince Harry, third in line to the British crown has been getting a beating in the papers and news programs across Europe because he wore a Nazi outfit, complete with Swastika arm band to a costume party. He now has a worse repuation than Saddam Hussein.
And now, because of all of the uproar, the enlightened states of the EU are considering banning Nazi symbols like the Swastika. The ever-enlightened EU, that bastion of freedom is thinking of banning clothing and accoutrements that have anything to do with the Nazis.
So much for freedom of expression in Europe. Havent the European nations learned anything from WWII and the Hitler led Nazi's? As I recall, one of the first things that Hitler did was to outlaw certain forms of expression. It's actually pretty standard in any totalitarian society. But maybe that is what they are headed for again.
Then he made Jews, Gypsies and Homosexual identify themselves with certain badges that would indicate their "position" in his society. As I recall anyone who spoke out against the Nazi party was met with a rather unkind "punishment". He also made a bon fire of books, banning certain writings and authors.
In Germany, they have already made "Mien Kampf" illegal. So, technically, book burning is already alive and well in modern Germany. In France, it is illegal to publish writings that are inflamatory or that promote prejudice, a nice suppression of expression and ideas right there.
Yes, the spirit of book burning is alive and well in Europe. How many more steps will it take before they go completely fascist?
Some imbecile, Andy Pike, of Unite Against Fascism, said "We don't think that (an apology) is enough. We would like to see Harry distance himself from Nazi ideas of white supremacy, anti-semitism and racism because he is a very influential figure."
Ah yes, he needs to distance himself from the Nazi party after he wore a costume to a costume party. Do the other people who were dressed as devils need to distance themselves from Satanists? Do the kids dressed as convicts need to distance themselves from crime? Just how much responsibility does this kid have? And how much power does a costume party have?
Quite frankly, ff he is that influential to the youths of Europe, the parents of Europe are doing a terrible job raising their kids. After all, if European kids can't differentiate between a costume at a costume party and promotion of the Nazi way of life then they have been raised by some pretty shitty parents. Of course, it is Europe where they tolerate everything except expression of unpopular ideas.
Of course, what else would one expect of Europe, a series of countries that placated Hitler until he put a choke hold on them, nearly enslaving them all under an insidious rule. Maybe it's the European leadership that needs to apologize and do work to distance themselves from Nazi ideas of white supremacy. After all, with the exception of England they didn't put up much of a fight.
What I want to know is just how influencial is Harry? He is the number three in line for the thrown of England (not even number one) and wearing a Swastika to a costume party will do what? Will it influence the second coming of the Nazi party? Will Harry be the leader in the Second Third Reich? Will there be death and destruction and a new world war because Harry wore an arm band to a costume party?
Really, Europe and their leaders and all of the other over reacting bunch of EU morons needs to get a grip. Harry wore a costume to a costume party. At least he isn't a theiving anti-semite politician like Kofi Anon who you aren't saying anything about.
Europeans suck!
