New York City - The Bastion of Stupidity
Well, political correctness finally went berserk in an incredibly stupid way. New York City is creating the first public school for gay, bisexual and transgender students. Apparently, learning for them is far different from learning for straight kids. At least, that's what it would seem, based upon this idea.
First, the constitutional question; The Supreme Court has already ruled that "separate but equal" schools are not constitutional. That happened way back in the days of segregated schools. You remember, back when the black students went to different schools than white kids? Well, this is no different from that.
Now, onto the psychological question; As I recall, most kids who are gay, bisexual or transgender already feel a little different. Many of them feel like there is something wrong with them. And, nothing makes a gay, bisexual or transgender kid feel more "normal" than quarantining him from the "normal" kids.
Okay, they don't have to go to the school, so it's not a quarantine, since they don't have to go. But, it does send a message that they need to be in a special place that is separate from the "normal" kids. That's just what they need - to feel more separated.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said "I think everybody feels that it's a good idea because some of the kids who are gays and lesbians have been constantly harassed and beaten in other schools, It lets them get an education without having to worry."
Is Michael Bloomberg crazy? What in the hell makes this dolt think that it will make them worry free? Does he have any concept of how the lunatic fringe works? Does he remember the black guy who was dragged behind the truck in Texas? Does he remember the gays who have been beaten up and killed in Hollywood and Santa Monica? Does he remember the abortion clinics that have been bombed? What the hell is this man thinking?
Hey, here is an idea; Instead of opening up a school for these kids they should paint a big red bulls eye on their heads. Or, better yet, lets make them wear patches on their clothes, like Hitler did the Jews and Gypsies and Gays in Nazi Germany. That way the lunatic fringe can be sure they are targeting the right people.
