Gay Marriages

For as long as marriage has existed it has been an institution between man and woman and not between man and man or woman and woman. Even in ancient Greece and Rome, where relations between men were common, marriage did not exist between same sex couples. Even back then, it would not have been considered normal or even excepted.

The battle over gay marriages seems to be raging, full steam ahead. And, as the politicians jockey for positions, trying not to come off as too liberal or overly conservative in their views, I have to ask...what's all the hubbub, bub?

Think about it like this. If you like gay folks you really don't want to deprive them of all of the benefits that married people have. And really, they already have enough things going against them. Throw 'em a freaking bone (no pun intended). Frankly, I can't think of a good reason why they shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the benefits of marriage.

And, as for the wedding…no one throws a better party than a gay man, can you imagine the weddings? Now, get two gay men to put together a wedding and you get a party that rocks for days. Of course, there is the drawback of having to listen to "YMCA" thirty times in a row. But hell, let them have their weddings.

If you don't like gay folks, what better way to punish them than by letting them get married? Most gay relationships don't last that long anyway. And, from what I have seen, the break-ups are pretty nasty. Can you imagine if they had to get lawyers and judges involved? Talk about carnage and catfights. Who gets the cat? Who gets the fuzzy kimonos? It would make divorces between straight couples seem like a love psalm.

And talk about good TV. There are a lot of gay folks who love attention, so you know that there would be some gay couple that would make it to TV divorce court. I can't imagine anything being more ostentatious than a gay divorce court. It would be like Jerry Springer, Divorce Court and female mud wrestling, all in one catty package.

So, come on, let the gay folks get married. Give them the chance to suffer, right along with the rest of us straight folks!
