Liberal Radio
Air America, a radio network started by liberals for liberals as a means to combat conservative talk radio, is broke. They originally had over 20 million dollars but, somehow, it vanished and now they have 0million dollars.
Plagued by poor management and low ratings, Air America has turned to it's next to last hope for staying afloat...begging...to pay off it's mounting debts. In fact, their main talk show host, Al Franken, is having to provide money to the network to help it stay afloat.
Economics is not, apparently, one of Al Frankens strong suits.
Already, they have been yanked from various stations for not paying their bills. Of course, they sued the stations that yanked them, claiming that the stations were breaching their contract with Air America - never mind that Air America was in breach for not paying their bills.
Currently, Air America is trying to get John Kerry to help subsidize the stations monetary woes. Just what Kerry needs - exposure on a radio network that doesn't really exist. Go for it, John.
As a last resort, Air America says it will turn to the government. A spokesperson for the failing network said, "It is the governments duty to ensure that we are all employed and that liberals have a radio station that they can listen to...".
Senator Ted Kennedy has already said that he intends to introduce legislation that will force conservative networks to share profits with smaller networks. Similar to the profit sharing plan that is in place with the NFL or MLB.

Two seasons of the WNBA have taken place since the last time I commented on it.
Apparently, one team won the WNBS championship twice, since the last report.
No one noticed, 'til now.
